Bamboo charcoal powder

Bamboo charcoal is made from the timber of moso bamboo (lat. – Phyllostachys edulis) – species of giant timber bamboo native to China and Taiwan. Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on earth. As part of the grass family, it simply regrows itself from the existing root structure when cut. This makes bamboo a very sustainable and environmentally friendly resource.
Moso bamboo is grown for about 5 years without pol­lution. After harvesting, it is carbonized at  a temperature above 1000°C, then undergoes activation, ultrafine grinding, and sieving until the final bamboo charcoal powder with excellent absorption powers is obtained.
For centuries the detoxifying powers of bamboo charcoal were highly praised in Asia. Added to cosmetics, the powder makes an ideal purifier, absorbing impurities and providing a gentle detox, thus leading to healthier-looking, suppler and smoother skin.
