Lychee fruit extract

The lychee (Litchi chinensis) is a small tropical fruit from the soapberry family. Lychees are grown in subtropical regions throughout the world, and since ancient times they have been especially popular in their native China where, because of their delicious taste and high nutritional value, they are also called the “King of Fruits”.
Lychee is a fleshy, white, sweet fruit with a floral smell. The flavour of the fresh pulp is aromatic and musky, and the dried pulp is acidic and very sweet. Lychees are a good source of several vitamins, and are especially rich in natural vitamin C, minerals and various polyphenols.
Made from tropical fruit, lychee extract provides potent antioxidant and rejuvenating properties – this is why it is commonly used as an ingredient in cosmetic products such as moisturising creams, lotions, shampoos, sun care and skin treatments. This extract is also suitable for anti-ageing in human skin, by inhibiting elastase enzyme activity and decreasing the degradation of elastin. Lastly, it also has antioxidant activity to maintain tension and moisturise the skin, helping to prevent wrinkles.
